Fabric and Supply Donations
The Textile Arts Center welcomes donations of fabric and sewing and crafting supplies from members and the community. These donations provide valuable resources for our charitable and general operating activities. This document outlines how Fabric and Supply Donations are handled to support TAC activities.
Any member is welcome to accept donations on behalf of the Textile Arts Center. The person donating the fabric and supplies should be informed of how TAC will use the donation.
Donations are allocated to our charity projects, equipment, and supplies inventory and finally to an annual sale in the following way:
1. AZ Blankets 4 Kids, our primary charity, will receive first option to select fabric and supplies that are usable to them.
a. Other TAC Charities may include Lions Club Projects, American Heroes Quilts, Ronald McDonald, Animal Rescue Dog Beds, and Meals on Wheels Placemats.
2. Equipment Manager – priority for sewing and crafting supplies, rulers, and templates.
3. Library for books.
4. Annual Sale - Garage Sale Pricing
a. TAC Members Only on Friday before Annual Community Yard Sale
b. Open to the public on Saturday of Annual Community Yard Sale.
c. Proceeds from Annual Sale will be added to the TAC annual charity budget for the current budget year.
The annual budget will allocate funds to be distributed to charities by the Board of Directors.
Sources of funds:
1. Line-item amount in annual budget set at the beginning of each new fiscal year.
2. Funds raised from the sale of donated fabric and supplies.
3. Cash donations from members and the community.
Distribution of charitable dollars to TAC charity organizations and projects:
The Treasurer will receive requests for funds from TAC supported charities and members and bring the request to the Board of Directors for approval by the February Board Meeting each year.
Any carry over will be added to the Charity Budget for the following fiscal year.
